Our approach: "Assertive not Aggressive" Our Dispute Management team are respected, determined and tenacious problem-solvers. For that reason, we are first and foremost dispute resolution lawyers who are assertive, not aggressive. We have the relevant experience to provide proactive commercial advice to secure the speedy and successful resolution of any business dispute, including where necessary, formal litigation procedures. What we do: Contracts Our team advises on a wide range of contractual disputes including construction, employment and partnerships. Corporate We have expertise in warranty claims, shareholder disputes, capital reductions, company restorations as well as director disqualifications, judicial factories and all business recovery needs – whether it is debt recovery or insolvency. Financial Services We have experience of acting in a range of financial disputes and regularly support our strong pensions team in every aspect of contentious pensions work. Health & Safety We provide a range of services from pro-active accident prevention advice and handling employer and public liability claims to road traffic, fatal accident inquiries and HSE prosecutions. Insurance Our team provides a range of services including claims handling, pre litigation claims, managing litigation in the Sheriff Court and Court of Session, dealing with medical negligence cases and offering policy advice. We also have a team which specialise in Uninsured Loss Recovery. Media & Technology Our contentious IT/IP caseload often sees us in court protecting our clients’ rights in respect of patent disputes, copyright and design issues, trademarks, passing off and internet related matters. Planning & Environment Our team has an extensive track record in dealing with contentious planning and environmental issues including representing clients at appeals and inquiries. Property We have a wealth of experience in all property related disputes from servitudes, dilapidations, rent reviews to “keep open clauses” in leases, evictions and pre-emption rights. We also offer dedicated licensing expertise. Public Law Disputes involving public bodies require expertise in administrative law and court procedures such as judicial review and regulatory issues. Risk Management & Negligence We advise on the resolution of claims for insurers, individuals and corporate organisations. We provide sound and early advice and aim to acheive a speedy resolution to any claim. Tax The team deals with contentious issues arising with HM Revenue & Customs on behalf of a range of both corporate and individual clients based throughout the UK.
