As employment law grows ever more complex it has become increasingly important to obtain the right advice as early as possible from experienced employment lawyers. EPO’s employment lawyers can provide expert, straightforward advice to employers and employees on a range of employment law issues including: Breach of contract Discrimination Disciplinary and grievance procedures Dismissal Employment Tribunal representation Compromise agreements Employers Employment law evolves on a continuing basis and sometimes it can be difficult to keep up to date with the law. Failure to ensure your business is up to date with the relevant changes in employment law may lead to your business bearing the expensive consequences of getting it wrong. Whether you have a difficult employee or you are handling a sensitive grievance, advice on managing a redundancy situation or need Tribunal representation EPO’s employment lawyers can provide helpful advice relevant to your circumstances. Tribunal representation There are some employment law claims which cannot be settled out of court and during those times EPO’s employment lawyers are on hand to provide practical support and advice on defending a claim at an Employment Tribunal. We offer competitive hourly rates and will give you an estimate of our charges before any work is undertaken on your behalf. Compromise Agreements To protect yourself and save money on defending a claim at an Employment Tribunal you may wish to have a compromise agreement drawn up following the termination of an employee’s employment. EPO’s employment lawyers can help by drafting a compromise agreement and advising you throughout the process. Employees For many employees their jobs have a significant impact on their daily lives and when things go wrong it is often confusing and upsetting. If you are being bullied in the workplace, or discriminated against or the subject of disciplinary proceedings or feel a redundancy situation has been poorly handled, or need advice on the contents of a compromise agreement EPO employment lawyers can help you. There are times when workplace issues cannot be resolved internally and in some cases of discrimination and unfair dismissal, legal proceedings are often the only solution. EPO’s employment lawyers are on hand to offer advice and support in those situations and will meet with you and advise you on your paperwork and any other evidence before taking matters further. Funding EPO employment lawyers offer a number of ways for you to fund your claim Fixed Fee Advice At Eddowes, Perry & Osbourne we offer an initial fixed fee consultation of £50.00 including VAT for you to meet with one of our employment lawyers for specific advice to your circumstances. If you wish to discuss the prospects of success of a potential claim it will be necessary to meet with you to review your paperwork. We can agree a fixed fee with you before any employment law work is undertaken so you can budget for costs. We can help you draft and file a claim form to the Employment Tribunal and review the response from your employer for a fixed fee to be agreed with you in advance. If you have already filed your claim with the Employment Tribunal we would be able to help prepare your case for a hearing e.g. draft a List of Documents, agree a Trial Bundle with the Respondent and draft and exchange Witness Statements and arrange for representation at the hearing for a fixed fee to be agreed with you in advance. Hourly rate If a fixed fee is not appropriate we offer competitive hourly rates and we will give you an estimate of our charges before any work is undertaken on your behalf. Legal Expenses Insurance You may have legal expenses insurance as part of your household insurance policy (we can check your policy for you) and we may be able to act for you under the terms of that policy. Conditional Fee Arrangements (No-win, no-fee) If in our opinion you have a good chance of winning your case (better than 50-50) we may offer to take on your case on a no-win, no-fee basis. In disability discrimination claims there is a requirement for a medical report and the cost of this is borne by you and is not covered under the terms of the no-win, no-fee agreement. Compromise Agreements If you as an employee would like advice on the contents of a compromise agreement we can do this and it is the usual practice for your employer to pay our reasonable fees (so you don’t have to).
