Tribunals Service

The Tribunals Service was created in April 2006, as an Executive Agency of the Ministry of Justice. Our mission is to establish, for the first time, a unified administration for the tribunals system. The Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Act received Royal Assent on 19th July 2007, enabling us to make procedural and judicial reforms to move most individual tribunal jurisdictions e.g. Mental Health, to a new two tier tribunal. Our goal is to ensure that the public at large have the opportunity to exercise their rights and to seek effective redress against Government decisions.
